Sustainable by Design
We believe being sustainable means striving to create at the intersection of what's good for people and what's good for the environment.
A Conscious Wardrobe
We believe a conscious wardrobe shouldn't be big, yet still offers endless possibilities. Our designs are timeless and radically versatile in both style and fit (read more about fit versatility here), so you can wear it at numerous occasions, and for many years to come. We put a lot of thought into each design with the intention that you as the wearer get to join the fun of creating an unlimited number of looks that inspire you.
Our pieces are made from eco-friendly fabrics. Currently we use:
Tencel™ - naturally wrinkle-resistent with a silk-like softness, the Tencel™ fabric is made from renewable wood pulp harvested from regenerative forests.
Organic cotton - softer, hypoallergenic and safer on the skin, requires less water to grow and preserves soil, and also offers safer environment for the farmers.
Recycled polyester - offering performance of polyester without using virgin plastic, these fabrics are made from post-consumer plastic bottles.
Oeko-Tex® 100 certified fabrics - certified to not contain substances that are harmful to human health. Read more here.
In creating our styles, we work with domestic ethical production on our small-batch production to ensure fair treatment of our makers and to reduce emissions from transportation. Our small factory located in Ohio is entirely women-owned and operated (all of their seamstresses are women). The seamstresses (including part-time workers) are are paid a living wage: 20-25% above minimum wage for entry-level seamstresses, and 70-75% above minimum wage for skilled seamstresses.
